ARB Investigations Panel Member
Aun’s experience and knowledge of architectural practice
has led to his appointment as an Investigations Panel member for the UK’s
Architects Registration Board. This role involves assessing allegations of ‘unacceptable
professional conduct’ and ‘serious professional incompetence’ that have been
raised against registered architects.
Local Council
Aun served as a local resident member of the London
Borough of Hounslow’s ‘Central Hounslow Area Committee’ from 2006 to 2014,

local Council services on behalf of Borough residents.
Community Outreach
In 2009 Aun instigated the setting-up of the
“Hounslow-Ramallah Twinning Association”, representing the first official
twinning link between Local Authorities in England and Palestine. He retained
the leading role for over a decade and remains a committee member. Under his
direction the Twinning Association helped to link-up schools, hosted the
Palestinian Olympic Team and the Mayor of Ramallah, organised a football
exchange project working with Brentford FC and the Palestine FA, arranged film
and theatre performances, organised a Mayoral visit to Ramallah and the West
Bank, and he was instrumental in achieving the installation of twinning signage
at the Borough’s boundaries.
Schools
From 2013 to 2019 Aun delivered annual workshops on
architecture and building to primary school children in Hounslow, with the aim
of demystifying and making accessible the world of architecture to young minds
who might one day be inclined to pursue careers in building design and
construction. In addition to explaining the work of an architect, the process
of simple construction was demonstrated by assembling a scale-model of a simple
‘eco’ building made of natural and recycled materials, enthusing more than 450
children over the period.
Permaculture
Having completed the full ‘Permaculture Design
Course’ in 2011, Aun is a certified permaculture designer and Permaculture
